Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly does a KonMari® Consultant do?

I guide and coach you through the official category-by-category framework. I provide emotional support, keep you focused, teach folding and other storage techniques, and help you visualize and work towards your ideal lifestyle.

Is regular cleaning included in the service?

What makes you different?

I can assist with light cleaning as we tidy with products and tools you provide. But deep cleaning is not included. Tidying focuses strictly on managing objects, decluttering, and organizing. For physical deep cleaning (dusting, mopping, scrubbing dirt), you must hire a separate professional cleaning agency.

Can you get my (husband, wife, parent, child, roommate) to tidy?

Sorry! The client needs to be willing to commit to the program. The best thing to do is tidy your own belongings and then they can see the advantages of the KonMari® System!

Can the consultant just do it for me while I am away?

No. The KonMari® Method requires your active choice on whether an item sparks joy. I cannot make these decisions for you; I act as a supportive coach while you do the discarding. The goal is to teach you the skills to maintain your home in the long term.

Are virtual appointments available?

Not at this time.

I have been working in customer service for over 40 years and studying the KonMari® Method for over 10 years. I am ready to listen to you, learn what your ideal lifestyle looks like, and help guide you to that goal.

Where are you located and what is your service area?

See the map at the bottom of my Services Page. I am located in the Kutztown area and serve homes generally in Upper Berks and Lower Lehigh Counties. Homes outside of that area may require an additional travel time fee.

Can I book sessions just for one category or do I have to book for the full Tidying Festival?

You can book for any category, but I strongly recommend starting with clothing. It’s the easiest category to use to understand the KonMari® System!

How long does a session take?

Sessions generally range from a minimum of 3 to 5 hours per day. Tackling an entire home typically requires multiple sessions over a period of weeks or months, depending on the volume of items.
